President’s Message

On behalf of our membership, a diverse powerhouse of more than 1,500 women, I extend my warmest greetings.

Junior League of Baton Rouge is one of the largest of more than 295 Junior Leagues around the world, and we are committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

Founded in 1932 by determined and unstoppable women, Junior League of Baton Rouge was created to serve and improve our community. We are excited to celebrate the legacy of those who came before us as we celebrate 90 years of service to Baton Rouge. Nine decades of women meeting the needs of our community while empowering one another to be the person she was meant to be.

And while we look back on our history, we also look toward our future as we begin the implementation of our new five-year strategic plan. We’ll be exploring ways to reinvent the membership experience, simplify our systems and communication, enhance the impact of community investments, increase opportunities for our brand and build a dynamic, resilient fundraising model, all while seeking solutions that further our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts so that we can continue to positively impact the Baton Rouge community for the next five… 10… 90 years.

I invite you to explore our website further to learn more about us. Thank you for your interest in JLBR and your support of our mission.

Yours in service,
Tristi Charpentier
President, 2021-2022
